Guess what? Not only does the Internet provide you access to how Jewish your favorite celebrity is, it now also lets you know how anti-Semitic ze might be.
Modeled after everyone’s favorite (read: disgusting) Facebook game, Hot or Not, the website AntiSemiticOrNot.com offers up people and events for viewers to rate on an anti-Semitic scale of 1 to 10. It also allows you to compare potential antisemites with the nifty feature “Who Is More Anti-Semitic” and, if you are super lazy, provides a well-researched list of their esteemed “Top Anti-Semites” (as you can imagine, Hitler and Mel Brooks peek out from the top of the page.)
Though incredibly off-putting, the website was actually created as a “satirical project” by Jewish activist Daniel J. Sieradski. He explains on the homepage that the website functions as a way “of taking the piss out of self-appointed Jewish leaders who deem themselves the sole arbiters of anti-Semitism and often pursue fallacious accusations in order to advance their institutions’ own economic interests.”
Some of the “bigots” up for judgement include The Forward’s Eli Valley, Charlie Sheen, and God himself.
What do you guys think? Does the message of the website resonate with you, or do you think the activist prank has gone too far?
