How did Rahm Emanuel become mayor of Chicago? Maybe it was all because of the efforts of the Jewish media conspiracy, which has apparently completely overrun TV news in the Windy City.
This cover story from the Chicago Jewish News–cleverly headlined, “And in local news, JEWS”–points out that no less than three Chicago television stations have Jewish general managers!
The story begins,
Call it coincidence, serendipity or the alignment of the planets, but Chicago currently has three Jewish general managers of three leading television stations (two network affiliates, one independent).
Though it probably should have read, “Call it coincidence, serendipity or the alignment of the planets, but there is definitely a Jewish media conspiracy in Chicago.”
Seriously though, it’s an interesting piece. One cool bit:
The current situation in Chicago is certainly no more than happenstance, but still says something about the Jewish community, according to Robert Feder, TV and radio columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times for 28 years who now writes and blogs for Time Out Chicago.
“What does their being Jewish have to do with being general managers? Insofar as they are Jewish, I think that informs their commitment to serve the community,” Feder says. “The cultural experience of being Jewish suggests a certain way of looking at the world, a certain way of feeling a commitment and obligation toward the community where you live. I think that’s a fair characterization of all of them. Their Jewish cultural experience has an impact on how they view their roles, their mission in serving the community.”
