Strong in Sderot

This is the second part of a New Voices series on Sderot. Find the first part here.I was a little bit nervous when my madrichim told us that we would be making a trip to Sderot. I know all about the tension the area has faced the last number of years, in particular with the threat of Quassam rockets. These images (of rockets that have been fired in the last number of months) were the closest I got to feeling threatened. I was surprised (but very happy) to see that Sderot looks and feels like every other city in Israel and despite threats, citizens of Sderot stay strong.

I know all about the tension the area has faced the last number of years, in particular with the threat of Qassam rockets. The rockets that have been fired in the last few months — depicted in the images above — left the strongest impression of how threatened the city is. I was happily surprised to see that Sderot looks and feels like every other city in Israel and despite threats, citizens of Sderot stay strong.
