There’s a large Middle Eastern population in Michigan, but there’s never been a kosher Middle Eastern restaurant — until now. Woody’s Oasis, an eatery near Michigan State University, is getting the hekhsher, according to an email from Kosher Michigan.

Meanwhile, two Pennsylvania state senators are complaining to the president of the state’s Lincoln University about a resident professor, Kaukab Siddique, who said that “We must stand united to defeat, to destroy, to dismantle Israel” and reportedly questioned the validity of the Holocaust. [JTA]
