New Voices is seeking an editorial intern and a publishing intern for the fall semester. Applicants should be attending university in the New York City area, and should be willing to commit several hours a week to working in the magazine’s office. Schedules are flexible.
The Editorial Intern will work with the editor on production of the magazine’s written and visual content. The intern will have the opportunity to write for the print edition, blog on the website and conduct edits on others’ articles. In addition, the intern will assist the editor in collecting and choosing the magazine’s visual content, both in print and online. Experience with photo editing would be a plus.
The Publishing Intern will work with the editor on the administrative aspects of the magazine, playing a key role in fundraising, marketing and expanding the magazine’s circulation. The intern will have the opportunity to work with Jewish organizations on campuses nationwide to reach more Jewish students, both in print and online. In addition, the intern will work with the editor on improving the website and drawing more users to it.
