The leitmotif of last week’s National Jewish Journalism Conference was the question of the future of journalism: the challenge of finding new financially viable models for news outlets, and the shift from print to web.
Turns out we aren’t the only ones thinking about these things. Two recent radio shows highlight just these questions.
First, NPR’s Talk of the Nation on April 22nd raises the question of whether hyper-local online reporting is the future of investigative journalism. Guests include Andrew Donohue, editor for Voice of San Diego and Jon Brod, co-owner and CEO of Patch.
Second, the May 7th episode of the Brian Lehrer Show discusses The Future of Newspapers.
Listen up folks, cause this conversation isn’t going anywhere.
