Though he once described himself as "Jewin' out like crazy" to The Forward, 50 Shekel, the preeminent Tel Aviv-born, Brooklyn-raised Jewish hip-hop artist, is rocking out to a new tune. That's right, you read it here: Aviad Cohen, the man behind the 50 cent rip-off, has found Jesus. During the winter of 2004, while the majority of the Jewish establishment was sounding off on the anti-Semitism of Mel Gibson's gorefest, "The Passion of the Christ," 50 Shekel was busy being inspired. "After seeing Mary sing "Ma nishtanah," Shekel told New York Magazine, "I was like, 'Oh, so this is the Messiah. It all makes sense now.'"
