The Truth About Santa Claus?

This article is the fifth in the series “Procrastination HaYom”– a week-long series of funny videos, websites, articles, and pictures that will do nothing to help you get that A, but everything to help keep you sane during finals time.

Life has been rough the past twenty-one years. Never a single visit from the big man up above. No, I’m not talking about G-d. I’m talking about Santa Claus. No matter how late I stayed up, how many cookie crumbs I spilled on the floor, how many perfectly spelled letters I wrote… I never got to hear that dumb ho ho ho laughter that I craved so much. (Hannukah may have donuts and latkes, but it doesn’t have that ho ho ho laugh. You know?) Anyways, these things were really bringing me down.

Yesterday, I was sitting in the library, a blank Word document open in front of me, eight books stacked next to me, and all I could do was stare vacantly out the window. Little kids were running around on the field below and they all had Christmas twinkling in their eyes. I wanted Christmas twinkling in MY eyes. And then, a well-meaning friend sent me this article, a hard-hitting expose straight from the Aeronautical Engineers Report, on the scientific improbability of Santa’s existence  the truth about Santa Claus… Listen, I don’t want to spoil it for you. You should read it for yourselves. It may just add that missing twinkle to your Hannukah lights.

True confession: I then spent the better part of an hour perusing the rest of the website, which is both weird (as most British things tend to be) and hilarious. I recommend you check out the various tabs available to you, which offer games, words of wisdom, and obscure family trees (that I am pretty sure are made up). You can play pass the pig, test if your cow has mad cow disease, or get to know yourself better (maybe?) and take this weird personality test.

Who knew studying could be so fun! You’re Welcome.
