Uhhh Is It A Jewish Holiday Today?

Is it a Jewish holiday today?
Is it a Jewish holiday today?

This post may be short, but it’s vital: I needed to update you all on what I think is the best internet invention since the 2008 Bush Presidency Count-Down Clock (oops, now I just gave away my political views).

The holiday season has been particularly brutal this year– and I don’t mean by way of engorgement. The calendars of yore have conspired against my ability to do well in any of my classes that meet on the Monday/Wednesday morning rotation (thanks a lot, lunar calendar). I go to a liberal secular school, which means that although teachers are tolerant to us missing classes for religious reasons, those classes still occur. When I was freshman, I was excited about being able to miss classes so frequently. I spent Rosh Hashana in bed watching season two of 30Rock. Not quite as much fun when you’re taking 300-level classes as a Senior though. Catching up on one missed class is hard enough. But catching up on five missed classes? In a row?

I might as well have mono.

Anyways, my frequent absences from class, social events, lunches, just general livin’ and breathin’ have caused people to continually ask me… do you finally have mono or is it just another Jewish holiday today?

Which, thankfully, I no longer have to answer.

Why?

I can just whip out my iPhone and have them click on this: http://www.isitajewishholidaytoday.com/

All the information they need, with a link to respective Wikipedia pages to boot.

What more could a good Jewish girl ask for?

Is it a Jewish holiday today?
