Multilingual, Orthodox rapper Y-Love

Shyne received some much deserved love from the New York Times a while back. And at this point, I would guess that virtually everyone knows Matisyahu. But not everyone knows of Y-Love.

A convert to Orthodox Judaism, Y-Love first gained an interest in the faith after seeing a commercial for a Jewish festival on television when he was seven-years-old. As he grew older, the Baltimore native became increasingly observant and eventually ended up in a Yeshiva in Jerusalem (for an extensive bio, click here).

Today, he continues to make music and has even partnered with Jewish music producer Diwon. But one of his most interesting characteristics is his ability to rhyme in different languages. He currently “spits…in a mixture of English, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Yiddish.” Check out this video for a prime example.
