Campus Recap

• Students from UBC are concerned about the Social Justice Centre’s decision to donate some of their budget — which comes directly from mandatory student fees — to a Canadian Gaza flotilla. UBC Hillel has mounted a campaign to raise awareness and started a petition to prevent the donation, arguing that school money should not be used to fund radicals. (UBC)

• Knox Student Anita Ahuja was named Lincoln Laureate for founding the Knox chapter of Best Buddies, a service organization that brings college students and developmentally disabled town residents together. (Knox)

• The first official meeting of the new Pre-Aliyah Community is tomorrow at the Hillel JUC. There will be the chance to meet other students and community members preparing for Aliyah, listen to Nefesh B’Nefesh speakers, and games. (Pittsburgh community)

• In anticipation of Chanukkah: Congregation B’nai Israel in Gainesville will be hosting International Latke Festival on Sunday, December 5th. They will have different sauces from different parts of the world for guests to dip latkes. (UF)
